11/11/2022 0 Comments Jolly llb 2 movie![]() ![]() It is the fine display of histrionics by all these refined actors, which makes the movie, worth seeing. Huma and Annu are also compelling enough. In top-form, he puts up a perfect display of a street-smart lawyer who hasn’t read legal tomes but who has instead picked up tips from courtroom corridors to become Jolly LLB. But there are portions that seem contrived.Īkshay changes shades from crooked to straight, like a chameleon. Their weighty arguments do educate and entertain to some degree. Story of a successful lawyer who swears to set things right after the woman he scammed for money commits suicide. The maker tries to pack in too much legal diatribe between Jolly and his adversary, the topnotch, Pramod Mathur(Annu Kapoor), in Judge Tripathy’s (Saurabh Shukla, delightful as always) Lucknow courtroom. Post interval though, the film hits a pause button at times. With cops playing villains and terrorists changing religions, legal greenhorn Jolly finds himself dodging bullets in Kanpur, Lucknow and Manali(doubling up for Kashmir.) ![]() The poster has Akshay outside a court, dressed as a lawyer and smiling his way through. The trailer of the film will be out at 11AM on December 19. ![]() The film also provides the right dose of action inside and outside the courtroom. A new poster of Jolly LLB 2 has been released, as the countdown to the theatrical trailer begins. The plot has enough laugh-out-loud situations and emotional outbursts to keep you invested especially in the razor-sharp first half. While the last instalment dealt with a hit-n-run case, this one deals with the case of mistaken identity of a J & K terrorist. Writer-director Subhash Kapoor who has studied India’s burgeoning legal system of `I-will-see-you-in-court’, definitely knows as much about the Indian Penal Code as most legal sharks because of his deep study of the subject. But these are just asides and not the main premise of courtroom drama, which in many ways follows the template of the 2013 prequel, Jolly LLB. At home, he is the hen-pecked husband of lush, Pushpa Panday (Huma) who loves whisky, Gucci dresses and her chubby son in that order. ![]() REVIEW: On the face of it, apna Jolly is a novice indulging in petty crimes because he knows the loopholes in the law. Leaving Jolly with guilt on his conscience and an unresolved case in his hands. Akshay Kumar and Huma Qureshi starrer Jolly LLB is Bollywood Hindi courtroom comedy drama film, written and directed by Subhash Kapoor. He lands the murder case of her husband, but when she realises he is a fraud, she kills herself. Driven by ambition, he hoodwinks a pregnant widow, Hina Siddique (Sayani Gupta) on the lookout for justice. Yet again an award winning performance for Sahrabh Shukla.STORY: Jagdishwar Mishra aka Jolly (Akshay) starts out as a prominent lawyer’s sidekick in Kanpur. What comes through is Saurabh's knowledge of the process and mechanics of the running of courts in India. Annu Kapoor who is pitted against Akshay Kumar is taut in his act, but the man who delivers the perfect courtroom pitch with witty one liners and strong screen command is the Judge played by Saurabh Shukla. He begins as slippery eel out to make it big and ends up as protector of the law and the transformation is energetic and robust. While these moments of elevated emotions seem a little formulaic, they also make the movie highly emotional. From the look to the walk and the talk he has got the small town lawyer down pat. Jolly LLB 2 makes some sweeping statements about the limitations of law and its grey areas. Yet again Akshay Kumar makes his character Jagdishwar Mishra completely believable. While the story may not be as sharp as the original Jolly LLB the second part certainly keeps us engaged with powerhouse performances and witty one liners that kept me watching the action and laughing at the same time more on bollywood pataka. Court room dramas are always a captivating watch and the Jolly LLb 2 court room scenes that occupy most of the second half are no different. ![]()
